 The Mansion at the Woodlands
Situation Analysis Well-known restaurant owner and acclaimed chef joined together to open an exclusive restaurant, The Mansion. The restaurant was located inside the Woodlands, a catering facility located in Oyster Bay, NY. With the restaurant being hidden from public, it was a challenge to create awareness with the right potential guests. Objective Increase exposure and traffic to restaurant, concentrating on the business community. Tactics In order to create a buzz for the restaurant, HJMT decided to hold a VIP opening reception.
• Invite List - HJMT developed an exclusive invite list of 50 business leaders and marketing directors throughout Long Island (concentrating on the North Shore of Nassau and Western Suffolk).
• Invitations - HJMT designed an upscale invitation that let guests know that the event was strictly VIP and invite only. HJMT made follow up calls to invited guests to ensure attendance.
• Media - HJMT targeted business media to attend the opening. The following media was secured by HJMT: Newsday, Long Island Pulse, Long Island Press and Distinction.
• The Event - HJMT staffed the VIP reception and worked with the client to organize all details. HJMT worked with the client to create an elaborate menu of food that would be showcased at the restaurant along with the restaurants own signature martini. HJMT also welcomed each guest and thanked them upon leaving. Upon leaving, each guest received a VIP gift bag with special gifts and $10 gift certificate to entice them to return to the restaurant. Result HJMT received fantastic feedback from all the attendees. They also heard from the client that many of the guests came back with family, friends or clients over the next few weeks. The restaurant began to build a buzz and soon was able to seat for dinner strictly on reservations.
